RBI has banned Kotak Mahindra Bank from onboarding new customers online or through mobile banking or issuing new credit cards. RBI raised red flags about serious data security concerns and deficient IT infrastructure, but Kotak didn’t fix things up despite several reminders and warnings. Existing Kotak customers can still access their accounts and cards as usual.
