Miss Malta Universe Beatrice Njoya became the oldest woman ever to compete in Miss Universe pageant. Aged 40, Njoya, a single mother of three children, originally hails from Cameroon and was also the oldest to be crowned Miss Malta Universe. She is a survivor of domestic and sexual abuse and works with local NGOs to combat violence against women.
