Why does India need the intense heat to experience monsoon rains?

Land heats up much faster than ocean. As northwest and central India face intense heat, air above it rises, creating large area of low pressure, often called 'heat low' over western India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, Indian Ocean remains relatively cooler, maintaining higher pressure. This difference acts like magnet, pulling in moist winds. As moisture-laden winds blow inland, they bring rain.
