Centre bans reuse of single-use medical devices in hospitals

The Centre has directed states and UTs to strictly enforce a ban on reusing single-use medical devices in public and private hospitals. The DGHS cited infection risks, including hepatitis B, C, HIV, and reports of patients being charged full prices for reused equipment like cardiac catheters, dialysers, and surgical staplers.
