The Reserve Bank of India has approved the transfer of a record dividend of ₹2.86 lakh crore to the Centre for the accounting year 2025-26. In the preceding financial year, the central bank transferred ₹2.69 lakh crore to the government. The transfer is expected to cushion the government's finances amid ongoing tensions in West Asia.
