Classroom phone bans improve learning, engagement in India: Study

A study has found that banning smartphones in Indian classrooms improved academic performance, particularly among lower-performing students and first-year undergraduates. The observations also showed reduced disruptive behaviour and off-topic conversations, along with increased teacher engagement. The study involved 16,683 students across 10 higher education institutions in Odisha.
