Silver prices surged ₹9,750 to hit a new record of ₹2,27,000 per kilogram in Delhi on Wednesday, according to the All India Sarafa Association. Meanwhile, gold retreated from a record high, declining by ₹50 to trade at ₹1,40,800 per 10 grams. In the international markets, spot gold crossed the $4,500 per ounce-mark for the first time.
