₹47 lakh jewellery missing from locker, bank told to pay ₹50.5 lakh

A woman has won a consumer dispute against a bank over jewellery worth ₹47 lakh that allegedly went missing from a joint locker held with her late father-in-law. A consumer commission directed the bank to pay ₹50.5 lakh, including compensation for mental agony and litigation costs. It also ordered 6% annual interest on the amount from September 1, 2018.
