How long should it take a person to fall asleep?

Most people usually take 10 to 20 minutes to fall asleep, however, this is on average, behavioural sleep medicine psychologist Dr Michelle Drerup emphasised. Adding that people dealing with insomnia usually take 30 minutes or more, she advised people to contact a doctor if they have difficulty falling asleep at least three nights a week for over three months.
