Why is Sardar Patel called the Father of All India Services?

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is known as the 'Father of All India Services' for his role in shaping India's post-Independence administrative structure. He advocated retaining and strengthening the colonial-era civil services, which evolved into the IAS and IPS. Patel also emphasised on a unified, pan-Indian administrative framework and famously described civil servants as the "steel frame of India."
