72-yr-old man arrested in Japan for overstaying 15-day tourist visa by 26 yrs

A 72-year-old South Korean man has been arrested in Japan for allegedly overstaying his 15-day tourist visa for more than 26 years. The man came to Japan using his brother’s passport in September 1993 under a tourist visa, hoping to get a higher-paying job in the country, police said. Notably, overstaying a visa became a punishable crime in February 2000.
