Govt bans sale of Everest hing powder

FSSAI has prohibited the sale of compounded Asafoetida (Hing powder) by Everest Food Products and Laljee Godhoo & Company over non-compliance with food safety standards. Everest’s samples were found misbranded and sub-standard, with some showing alcoholic extract below the prescribed 5% level. FSSAI also flagged non-compliance in Everest’s egg curry masala, chicken masala, and garam masala.
