Advocacy group says LinkedIn illegally searching users' computers

Fairlinked, a European Union-based advocacy group, claimed every time any user visits LinkedIn's website, hidden code illegally searches their computer for installed software. The results are then collected and transmitted to Microsoft-owned LinkedIn’s servers and to third-parties like American-Israeli cybersecurity firm. It accused LinkedIn of corporate espionage and trade secret theft.
