Study finds molecule to boost brain's defence against Alzheimer's

A study published in Cell Death and Disease said researchers identified a molecule, known as OLE, which can help restore the brain's natural defences against Alzheimer's disease. Researchers said OLE, produced by the PM20D1 gene, can "reprogram" the brain's immune cells to a more protective state. The immune cells become progressively impaired in Alzheimer's disease, researchers explained.
