Amid nationwide protests, Pakistanis are demanding lower diesel prices, reduced motorway tolls and relief from withholding tax. The transport sector is seeking uniform enforcement of axle-load rules across Pakistan and permission for 10-wheel vehicles to carry up to 35 tonnes. They're also demanding removal of Pakistan Punjab Highway Patrol's authority to issue challans to commercial vehicles.
