UP ration shops to now offer ‘gud-peetha’, seating facility too

The Uttar Pradesh government will now provide "gud-peetha" to people collecting free ration, along with seating facilities at ration centres. Each ration centre will have nearly 25 chairs to help beneficiaries avoid the inconvenience of standing in queues. The initiative was announced as part of the state's budgetary provisions for ration centres, ahead of next year's Assembly elections.
