Subsidised rice meant for labourers sold to traders in Delhi in ₹29-cr scam, FCI officials booked

The CBI booked eight people, including officials of Food Corporation of India and North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd, over an alleged ₹28.87 crore rice diversion racket involving distribution of subsidised grain in Delhi. The rice was meant for labourers but was sold to traders. The rice was lifted from FCI depots by traders instead of reaching vulnerable groups.
