NDA comprising BJP and Shiv Sena won in 2019 but alliance ended amid differences. Then, BJP's Devendra Fadnavis became CM and Ajit Pawar, who allied with BJP, became Deputy CM. Their government couldn't last and Pawar left BJP. Subsequently, Uddhav Thackeray became CM with Congress and NCP's support. Uddhav resigned in 2022 when Eknath Shinde rebelled, resulting in party's split.
