Punjab police ASI shot dead in Amritsar

Assistant Sub-Inspector Harjit Singh of Punjab Police was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-borne men while he was on duty in Amritsar at around 3 am on Friday. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced an ex-gratia amount of ₹1 crore for his family.
