Which Android users can no longer use WhatsApp?

WhatsApp has stopped working on Android 5.0 and 5.1 devices from September 8, 2026, following its decision to end support for older software. The minimum requirement is now Android 6.0 Marshmallow. WABetaInfo reported that affected devices are mostly older models that cannot receive newer software updates, with such phones still widely used in India and other developing markets.
