44-yr-old Serena, 23-yr-old Alcaraz lose in US Open mixed doubles quarters

Flavio Cobolli and Belinda Bencic defeated Carlos Alcaraz and Serena Williams 5-4(4), 4-1 in the US Open 2026 mixed doubles quarter-finals. The 44-year-old Williams and Alcaraz, who is 21 years her junior, had earlier defeated Lloyd Glasspool and Erin Routliffe in the opening round. Cobolli and Bencic will face married partners Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils in the semi-finals.
