S. Korea Sept exports hit $120.9 bn, chips up 263%

South Korea's September exports reached $120.9 billion despite fewer workdays due to Chuseok holidays. Semiconductor exports surged 263% year-on-year, with computers and petroleum products also rising sharply. Exports to China and the US more than doubled. The Bank of Korea raised its benchmark rate to 3% in August amid strong growth and inflation.
