Railways & IRCTC to pay man ₹15,000 after train leaves 2 hrs early

A Punjab consumer body directed Northern Railway, Konkan Railway and IRCTC to jointly pay a passenger ₹15,620 after his train departed two hours early without proper intimation. The commission termed the failure to inform him about the changed departure time a deficiency in service. Left stranded, the passenger’s family said it had no option but to book three flight tickets.
