Govt bars ministers, MPs & officers after minister, Secy's kin avail subsidy scheme

The government revised definition of 'family', two months after a minister and a government secretary's family were found availing subsidy for their cucumber farms. It has brought into family's ambit, applicant's spouse, father, mother, sons and daughters. The government has made serving ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors, and government employees ineligible for financial assistance under NHB schemes.
