Surging cases of COVID-19's Omicron variant could lead Israel towards herd immunity, Director General of the Israeli Health Ministry, Nachman Ash, said on Sunday. Herd immunity is the point at which a population gets immunity against a virus either through vaccinations or via antibodies developed in their bodies after contracting disease. Israel has so far reported over 1,700 Omicron infections.
