Every 4th Jan Dhan account inactive, 5.72 cr have 0 balance: RTI

According to an RTI reply, every fourth account under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is inoperative, while about 5.72 crore accounts have zero balance. Over 15 crore accounts under the scheme are classified as inoperative, the data showed. Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of zero-balance accounts at 95.92 lakh under the scheme, followed by Bihar and West Bengal.
