Iran overhauls military leadership, 6 hardline commanders appointed to key posts

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered a massive overhaul of country’s top military leadership, appointing six senior hardline commanders to key defence posts. Ali Abdollahi has been appointed Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, while Ahmad Vahidi has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of IRGC. Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taeb has been appointed commander of the paramilitary force Basij.
