A video of Padma Shri recipient K Pajanivel lying on the ground and folding hands before PM Narendra Modi at the ceremony on Monday has gained widespread attention. Pajanivel received the honour in the field of sports for reviving 'Silambam', a 5,000-year-old weapon-based Indian martial art that originated in Tamil Nadu. President Droupadi Murmu conferred the awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
