Mehakpreet Kaur, a farmer's daughter from Punjab's Ropar and cadet of Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI), has secured AIR 1 in Air Force Academy merit list. Another AFPI cadet, Komalpreet Kaur, daughter of an Indian Army Havildar, secured AIR 18. Mai Bhago AFPI is a Punjab government initiative that trains girls to become commissioned officers in Armed Forces.
