The Centre has cut special additional excise duty on petrol to ₹3/litre from ₹13/litre and diesel to zero from ₹10/litre, Reuters reported, citing a government order. This comes as war in the Middle East sparked fuel supply concerns. Notably, India's biggest private fuel retailer Nayara Energy had hiked petrol and diesel prices by ₹5/litre and ₹3/litre, respectively, on Friday.
