Commerce and Industry Ministry wants all the departments to consider withdrawing pending court cases involving minor offences in light of the recently passed Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill. This can impact around 5 crore pending court cases involving minor offences. Notably, the bill decriminalises 717 provisions to promote ease of doing business and reduce load on the judiciary.
