A political row has erupted after a BJP worker referred to Diamond Harbour, the Lok Sabha constituency represented by TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, as the "Lyari of Bengal". Reacting to it, the Trinamool Congress said it was "a deeply insulting and humiliating comparison." It added, "This is deep-seated hatred and cultural aggression against Bengal. Bengal will never accept this humiliation."
