Google was fined €890 million (around ₹9,800 crore) for flouting EU rules aimed at curbing the power of Big Tech. The fines include €460 million for favouring its own services in shopping, hotels, sports results in search results and €430 million for preventing app developers from directing users free of charge to cheaper alternatives outside Google Play.
