IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook report projects Bangladesh overtaking India in GDP per capita income in 2026, at $2,911 compared to India’s $2,812. However, India, world’s fastest-growing economy in total volume, is expected to regain the lead in 2027 and maintain it through 2031. The report also showed India slipping from the fourth-largest economy in the world to sixth position.
