Who bears the loss if one's credit card is lost and money is spent?

If a lost credit card is used for unauthorised transactions, the customer's liability depends largely on how quickly the transaction is reported. Under RBI rules, customers may have zero liability in certain cases, including third-party fraud, if reported within three working days. However, if the customer was negligent, they may bear losses until the transaction is reported to the bank.
