Chandigarh tribunal awards ₹84L to road mishap victim's family

A Chandigarh MACT tribunal has awarded ₹84 lakh to the family of Ranjit Singh, a 59-year-old UT electricity department employee killed when an army truck hit his scooter in May 2024. The tribunal ruled the accident was caused by rash driving. His widow gets 55% and three sons share the remaining 45%.
