Hiroshi Okuda, who served as Toyota Motor's president and later chairman in the late 1990s and early 2000s, has died at 93. Okuda was a rare outsider to lead the Japanese automaker, which was often headed by a founding-family member. He helped cement Toyota's position as a global automaker. The date and cause of his death were not immediately available.
