TMC's anti-incumbency and BJP's focus on women's voters by raising issues like safety are two of the many factors which contributed to BJP's stunning performance in West Bengal. Migrants returning to Bengal for voting also worked in BJP's favour, and so did the party's popularity among the Matua community. BJP's infrastructure push and stand against illegal immigration also resonated well.
