More than 6.5 lakh Olive Ridley turtles arrived at Rushikulya beach in Odisha for mass nesting. "To ensure smooth nesting, a five km stretch has been fenced, joint sea patrolling intensified and nearby establishments urged to dim lights till hatchlings move out to sea," an official said. In the last decade, they skipped nesting in 2015-16, 2018-19, 2020-21 and 2023-24.
