BharatPe distances itself from ex-CEO Ashneer Grover’s UPI MDR criticism

Fintech firm BharatPe on Thursday supported the new Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) framework for UPI merchant transactions, while distancing itself from criticism by co-founder and former CEO Ashneer Grover. The company said Grover's comments were personal and did not reflect its views, adding that he has not been associated with BharatPe since 2024. Grover had criticised the framework publicly.
