Frequent buying and selling can hurt returns when investors react to short-term price movements instead of company fundamentals. Investment expert Saurabh Mukherjea said investors should stay invested rather than make decisions based on short-term market moves. He cited HDFC Bank, whose stock fell around 30% since November despite stable earnings, deposits, liabilities and asset quality.
