National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has proposed a third Mumbai-Pune expressway corridor. The proposed 130-km highway will connect Atal Setu and Pune’s Shivare area, and is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities to nearly 90 minutes from two and a half hours currently. Commuters currently rely on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and old Mumbai-Pune highway for travel.
