Things that should be avoided after having a meal are sleeping, bathing, eating fruits, drinking tea or coffee, smoking and immediately sitting for prolonged periods, experts said. Drinking tea or coffee interferes with absorption of certain nutrients, while sleeping or taking a nap causes the digestive juices to rise up, causing severe heartburns. Bathing can interfere with digestion.
