A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit Telangana's Mulugu and Hyderabad on Wednesday morning. However, the magnitude of the earthquake was unusually high for the state. It's because Telangana falls under Zone II seismic zone, which means, it's one of the areas least prone to earthquakes. Dr Prakash Kumar, Director of CSIR-NGRI, said, "Hyderabad is not an earthquake-prone area...it is not severe."
