Visually challenged singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi receives her 1st National Award

Visually-challenged singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi was honoured as the Best Female Playback Singer at the 72nd National Film Awards. She was awarded for her song 'Angu Vaana Konilu' from the Malayalam film 'ARM'. Vijayalakshmi has won major accolades, including a Filmfare Award, two Kerala State Film Awards, and the Kerala Sree Award - the third-highest civilian honour by the Kerala Government.
