BJP member Subramanian Swamy said that Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi is a "patriot". "Patriot means someone who will defend the country against foreigners hostile to the country of his citizenship," Swamy tweeted. He added, "But a nationalist in India is one who lives by the ancient culture of Hindustan. Thus, a Hindu citizen has to be patriot and nationalist."
