New Zealand approves MDMA for PTSD treatment
New Zealand's Medsafe has approved pharmaceutical-grade MDMA for treating severe PTSD, making it only the second country after Australia (2023) to do so. Two psychiatrists can now prescribe MDMA-assisted therapy for patients aged 18+. Treatment will occur in controlled clinical settings alongside psychotherapy; patients won't take drugs home.
