Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, the AIADMK announced a ₹10,000 compassionate assistance to every family after forming the government to ease the burden of hikes in property tax, house tax and electricity tariffs under the DMK regime. It also promised monthly aid of ₹2,000 to unemployed graduates and ₹1,000 to job-seeking youth educated up to Class 12.
