England have reached the FIFA World Cup semi-finals for the fourth time after qualifying for the 2026 edition, having previously reached the last four in 1966, 1990 and 2018. Their only semi-final win came against Portugal in 1966, after which they went on to lift the World Cup. England lost to West Germany in 1990 and to Croatia in 2018.
