Oxford university invents calculator that predicts cholesterol medicine statin side effects

Scientists at the Oxford University have developed a calculator that predicts an individual's risk of developing muscle disorders from statin, medicines used to lower "bad" cholesterol. The study found that over 60% of people eligible for statin therapy were not taking them, potentially increasing their risk of heart attacks. The calculator analyses 22 routinely collected health factors.
